Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Preparation:
- Ability to bring a set of books and records provided by a client from the bookkeeping stage through to completion, ensuring that tax computations and financial statements are fully prepared and accurate.
- Preparation of accounts for Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs), audit-exempt companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines, delivering high-quality financial reports.
- Auditing:
- Conduct audits in accordance with relevant auditing standards, ensuring thorough and precise documentation and reporting.
- Taxation:
- Computation and submission of Income Tax (IT), Corporation Tax (CT), VAT, PAYE, and RCT returns.
- Maintain awareness of all relevant tax deadlines and ensure compliance with all taxation obligations.
- Provide advice on tax planning and strategy for small businesses.
- Company Secretarial:
- Prepare and submit statutory documents to the Companies Registration Office (CRO).
- Maintain a thorough understanding of company deadlines and statutory requirements related to financial statements.
- Client Interaction & Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships with clients, colleagues, and management.
- Liaise with Revenue, banks, and social welfare as necessary.
- Software Proficiency:
- Demonstrable experience with software packages such as Sage Business, QuickBooks, Big Red Book, etc.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a small practice environment.
- Skills:
- Strong experience in accounts preparation, auditing, and taxation.
- Knowledge of company secretarial duties and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in software packages relevant to accountancy and business management.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and take initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
